Moundless Coastal Bio-COIR Configuration

The moundless coastal Bio-COIR configuration allows home-owners to avoid that dreaded camels back situation that is encountered on many sites in the coastal regions of Virginia. This is especially popular in the Virginia Beach and Tidewater areas. The design is simple and incorporates a rigid and water-tight PVC pump basin that collects the recirculated water from the Bio-COIR units and pumps it through an 80/20 splitter device as shown below.

The pump basin RB-BAS-30x78 is 30" in diameter and 78" in depth incorporates a 1/3 hp demand dosed pump P-SE-13T and an outdoor alarm box AC-A-O. Below you will see a picture of the typical control panel and alarm box configuration.

If the designer uses a 1500 gallon Bio-COIR STEP Tank like the one available from Hanover Pre-Cast you will only need one septic tank. This makes it easier to install and less expensive. We have been able to negotiate with Hanover Pre-Cast on the delivery of these tanks so that the delivery of our unit will not cost the contractor an additional fee.

The Bio-COIR is excellent for Virginia Beach and Tidewater. Not only does it provide an excellent choice for vacation property where extended aeration units fall short but we are able to provide our systems at roughly half the cost of our fixed media competitors. Give us a call at 276-646-5771.

The Bio-COIR is a natural media so home owners and developers can rest assured that they are helping the environment by building GREEN. The Bio-COIR media is a specially formulated mix of COIR fibers. This special mixture provides optimum room for biological growth and filtration as well at nitrogen reduction.

If you've lived in the Chesapeake Bay area for very long you understand the importance of the environment and protecting the bay from nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus. In the Bay nitrogen is the most important nutrient to control because the fresh water leaves the Bay where phosphorus is the limiting nutrient and mixes with the salt water of the Atlantic where nitrogen is the limiting nutrient. The Bio-COIR has been engineered with Nitrogen reduction as a major goal.

We believe the Bio-COIR is head and shoulders above the competition when it comes to the Chesapeake Bay region of Virginia. Remember aerobic units are not as good as fixed media and single pass media filters don't excel at nitrogen reduction like recirculating media filters do. The Bio-COIR does it all.
